OUR KITCHEN GARDEN

Each week, as part of their kindergarten curriculum, the children from both the three- and four-year-old kindergarten groups spend time in our extensive fruit and vegetable garden that they actively help to plant and maintain.

In their kitchen garden, the kindergarten children learn about seasons, plant varieties, seed saving, water management, composting and sustainability. They spend time each week preparing and sharing a variety of dishes created from their produce.

OUR CUBBY HOUSE

Our open-style cubby house complete with pergola and deck area, verandah and storage benches, was designed to the specific supervisory and safety requirements of our Teachers and Educators. Local landscape architect firm, Green & Dale Associates, prepared the design plans for our cubby project.  Warrandyte-based building company, Sanctum Homes constructed our cubby house and brought our wonderful “Grand Designs” cubby to life!

Our kindergarten children have such fun with their imaginative play in their cubby house.

OUR WATER FEATURE

Designed and constructed by local Landscape Designers, Cadogan Gardens, our dry creek bed is a fascinating play area for our kindergarten children.  The hand pump allows children to pump water directly from a rain tank and they delight in watching the water trickling down the rocks.

OUR MUD KITCHEN

Mud pies, anyone?!  One of our very generous dads, Nik Vlasic who attended Warrandyte Kindergarten himself, constructed a mud kitchen for our kindergarten children out of hardwood pallets.  Our mud kitchen is strategically located next to our digging patch so that the children have a fantastic muddy precinct for loads of fun, exploration and role-playing.

OUR BIKE TRACK

Our children enjoy cruising around our bike track on their bikes. The bike track encircles our adventure playground area and enables children to develop their bike-riding skills as well as their ability to act safely and be aware of the other children around them.
